December 8, 2004My friend said that he can make me an exhaust. I told him that I want it as loud as it can go. He said if he does that it will be illegal. How often if ever would I get pulled over?, has anyone heard of someone getting pulled over due to an exhaust that was too loud?
December 8, 2004Here in AR, I have a buddy who ran 2 single chamber flowmasters with 3.5" pipe w/ no Catlytic converters and headers with turn downs...it was really loud (and it sounded like hammered ***) but he never got pulled over. I think in some states you could get into trouble, just check w/ the State Police HQ in your area, they'll tell you.
I have a 1 single chamber Flowmaster w/ 3" pipe and a turndown and it is loud but not obnoxious. I also run the stock manifolds and cats on mine. It sounds good and I have never been pulled over.
December 10, 2004I've been pulled over twice. Never ticketed though. I have 2.25in pipe true dualed into 2 high flow cats H pipe then angled out the back into 4in tips.
January 16, 2005i have true dual straights from the converers back with 3.5 in tips angled out the sides on my 2000 GMC. Has anyone been able to cut the converters on these trucks and it still run right? On my old Ford with a built 302, i got 2.5 inch pipe from the headers back with 18 in glasspacks with 3.5 tips angled out the sides, about 6000 rpm, it screams pretty good.
August 7, 2005I think it depends on what your driving
