January 18, 2005This weekend I went four wheeler riding up in the Ozarks here in AR and I tried to cross Hurricane Creek (yeah, should have known by the name) on my 2001 Honda Rancher 4x4...well, the water was a little deep and my 26" SS Vampires floated and flipped the bike over. I tried to keep it from floating off, but it just got washed along with it, until about 40 or so yds down I wedged it against the bank on a rock. It took 2 Warn 2500lb winches on my friends four wheelers to winch it up the bank. I was REALLY cold and so we went straight back to camp and I changed clothes and didn't even look at the damage.(we pulled it back to camp). The next day I changed the fluids, filters, gas, etc and bent the handle bars back up and reattached the throttle, choke, and brakes. It ran fine, but it has alot of body damage.
So, I guess the title is a little off...The end of a good thing-ALMOST. ;D
I am now saving to buy a Rincon 650 at the beginning of summer. (that is a swweeeettt four wheeler!)
I lived and I got the bike back, my cousin (whose bday we were celebrating by riding and camping) said that was all that mattered, but I think when my dad sees the $5000 four wheeler HE paid for, he might have a different opinion!!!
Oh, yeah, this happened at about 4:30 or 5pm and I started drinkin' Busch Light at 10am....so that is a wreck inspired by about 18 beers and some HotDamn! ;D
