February 15, 2005An Edge Attitude chip...that is if you like to roast the tires off and smoke imports.
February 15, 2005Well I Dont need to rost tiers I just need somthing that increases horsespower and torge Because I haul alot and travel I dont want to just go out and trash it
February 15, 2005Yeah, Edge "Juice"w/Attitude monitor or some other type of guages. You WILL NEED Pyrometer/Boost/Trans-Temp guages. Pyrometer and Boost at the very least. High flow air intake system is a must as well. The 4" exhaust is a good start.
On edit...I see you said you tow alot so definitely add the trans tem gauge.
February 16, 2005im thinking about putting a 4 inch lift with 35inch super swampers on it give its some looks air brush some graphics on the side
February 16, 2005I ordered A $1200 chip Edge "Juice"w/Attitude monitor It will be put in tomorrow so lets see what it dose
February 16, 2005Ummm...I can tell you what it does...It makes your diesel a bad mofo. My step dad put one on his Cummins, and it will burn the duals like no tomorrow, as well as pull a 35ft gooseneck trailer with 2 cab tractors on it with ease.
The reason I say roast the tires, is if a truck will roast the tires (esp on a dually) it obviously has power. (duh)
Yeah, I would definately get some gauges. Don't let your pyro get over 1300F or you will start melting important stuff! (that is what the guy told my step dad when he put it on our truck, and he is a really good mechanic and 4x4 guy).
High flow air filter and exhaust will help, as well as a turbo upgrade(if you have the $$$)
February 17, 2005You will have a permanent smile on your face.
Pay attention to your exhaust gas temps especially in the higher HP settings. Don't let them go over 1250* or so for long periods of time. Short bursts will probably not hurt but high temps for more than a short burst will cook your turbo for sure!
You will probably notice gobs of black smoke when getting on it hard in the higher settings without a high flow intake system. This is normal. Whatever you do, don't get a drop in K&N, get the whole system like an AFE or something. This is a MUST DO!
I would start looking for tranny upgrades, turbo upgrades.
PS you will ROAST those 35"s easily! If I can burn my 38"s you can definitely lay down some nice rubber
ALSO, you just started something you will never finish.....adding power to a diesel. Check into new injectors if anybody makes them. Then you'll really have a rocket.
February 17, 2005Oh yeah put the graphics on hold and drop that $$$ into the tranny upgrades or turbo upgrades, etc.
February 17, 2005You realize you just voided your vehicle warranty right? If you don't care that's cool I just wanted to make sure since a blown engine is going to cost ALOT of money....3-4 times what you would expect.
February 17, 2005A $1200 chip Edge "Juice"w/Attitude monitor High flow air filter and exhaust a turbo upgradehas been added its onley costed around $3600
