February 21, 2005Hey everyone! I have a 1997 Chevrolet K1500 with a 5.7L in it. First of all it quit running. So we did a tune up on it. When we did the tune up it fired right up, but now its running rough and fuel was coming out of the exhaust. So we replaced all the fuel injectors and the fuel regulator. I also had to replace the timing chain. The injection system it the spider injection. Well now its still running rough and fuel is still coming out of the exhaust not as bad though the #1 and #8 cylinders are getting tons of fuel. Does anyone one have any suggestions? We think maybe its the computer. I hope someone can help me..... Thank you.

February 21, 2005One thing I would do is change the Oxygen sensors. If you got that much fuel in the exhaust, sure as hell the O2s are shot ...... Also check your MAP(Manifold Air Pressure)Sensor or MAF(Mass Air Flow) Sensor, which ever one applies in your case... One of these my be shot, causing the computer to read that there's more air coming into the engine than there really is, thus causing the flooding effect.
February 28, 2005Well I changed my computer and had it flashed. Now it does not overload with fuel. And you can actually drive it. But now I have a really bad misfire. We hooked up a computer tester to it and it says my mass air flow sensor is bad and my cam sensor is bad. So I guess I will change them and see what happens. If anyone has suggestions please reply.
