April 15, 2005I am in the process of swapping a 292 in place of my 250 in a 1970 K5 Blazer. The engine mount on the passenger side is moved forward on the 292 about 4 inches. Anyone know how to support the lower portion of the engine mount bracket that would normally transfer the weight to the crossmember? Is there some type of adapter to trasfer the load? The upper portion of the engine mount tower will relocate to the correct location without any trouble - as far as I can see. The problem is with the lower portion. There's an old article ('96) about a 250-292 swap in Truck World that mentions having to relocate the support but does not mention how!! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

July 8, 2005i know this is very late but how did your engine swap turn out? i put a 292 in a 1961 gmc that had a v-6 in it my upper mount bolts went right to the top of the frame andi just made a lower crosmember that the lower bolt holes mounted to and bolted to the bottom frame rail.
