October 8, 2005Its sad that this topic even has to be discussed but theres a lot of ignorance out there when it comes to towing things, me being a rv mechanic and owning my own travel trailer makes me notice these things a lot more. The first thing i notice, which mostly applies to wider trailers (travel trailers, fifth wheels, etc) is the lack of towing mirrors which are so critical for seeing around the veichile when it comes to passing, etc. There a low cost item with applications for almost any veichile, im not sure if people overlook it or if there just to cheap/lazy to obtain a set. The next thing i notice is improperly loaded, or even worse overloaded tow veicheles on the road, its amazing some of the things you see on the road ex: mid 90's ford explorer towing 30ft travel trailer, ive seen it!!, Newer Ford windstar VAN towing tri-axle travel trailer(lease?) Ive seen it!! I believe a lot of this can be linked to lease veichiels (which people dont care what happens to them overloaded or not) and i think some people see that their veichile has a hitch so in turn they can tow ANYTHING! right?? anyways a little common sense goes a long way and though most people use their head when towing its the ignorant ones that put themselvs along with me and you in danger on the road

July 4, 2006Oh yea... I like the FWD cars that are all over the road when they hit a bump, going 80 in a construction"60-45"zone.
It's not the speed that kills it is the failure to stop.
February 21, 2007I would have to agree with you, but what exactly is a "veichile" is that like a mexican dish ?
April 27, 2007Here you go, a buddy from CTW posted this on CTW...
But weigh I see it all the time... I have a heavy 3/4 ton with Load E tires... I see 1/2 tons carring more in their bed than I do with Passenger tires... yikes!
