October 10, 2005I have got a 2000 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3L 327 V8 (love the truck) I have put a hearthrob exaust (strait pipes)it sounds great and takes off without a problem. I am little dissapointed with the burnouts. When i try brake standing the truck in first gear all it seems like its in to high of a gear and just won't spin.I use to have a 1995 dodge daktota that would have no problem doing a smoke show and that was a v6. Is there anyway to disable the rear brakes. Please i am open to any suggestions.

October 21, 2005You can put a line lock kit on,,that will lock the front and leav the back free.
Or put a blower on it.
January 6, 2006Also, putting the truck in first gear is somewhat misleading. While powerbraking, it tends to hold for me and when my truck had the stock suspension, wheels and tires, I could smoke em easy and do doughnuts. But if you dont hold the brake and just drive in first gear, the truck will automatically upshift, even though your dash display still reads first gear. Try it out sometime for yourself, maybe your truck is upshifting when you powerbrake. Also, try turning off overdrive with the button on the end of the shifter.
